Alaska trip about over
Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 07:33PM Spent the day in Homer again today getting ready to fly back home. Lucas flew out early this morning and Kevin flies out late tonight. It has been foggy here today, so no chance to photograph the eagles today. Loks like the photo portion of the trip is over. I will be writing down some information about the trip to help those of you planning for the trip over to McNeil or any other Alaska remote location. I made a few mistakes in my planning and although they did not have anny effect on my trip, it could have made things a little easier.
Just looking at the images on the laptop today, and I got some nice shots at McNeil. The shots of the bears at Mikfik are much different than the ones at the falls. I think I prefer te fishing shots at the falls, but the bears in the tall grass are nice also. So now I have several different shots of the bears at McNeil. I will post some more as time permits.

It is about 21% protien and will fill them up till the fish are here. The fish showed up just after we left, so this week will be a good one at McNeil.

Here at Homer, Alaska today and just got back from McNeil and here for a few days before flying back. Got a pic of this eagle landing yesterday out at the Homer spit. It's raining today, so not much of a chance to photograph, so I guess I will Blog!
Homer is the hot spot to photograph eagles. Will be trying to get some more shots later today if the rain lets up. Will load new photos, journal, etc from the trip as time permits.

In Alaska!
Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 06:11PM I am blogging from theBestwestern here in Homer Alaska. I flew in yesterday and it was a plane ride from hell! I had a four hour layover in Houston and we had to wait for about an hour on the tarmac before I plane could leave the airport to journey to Anchorage. There were some storms along the way and we were forced to go around them, which caused us to burn more fuel. We had to go to Juno to get some fuel so we could make it to Anchorage. While there they had some trouble giving us some gas (maybe they did not take Conitonintel's credit card). After another hour wait we were on our way to Anchorage. After getting into Anchorage, I had another 3 hour overlay till my next flight! I was very tired by the end of the day after being up for 24 hours.
I will be flying into McNeil today if weather permits. The weather is crazy around here and that's just how it is here in Alaska. The weather is in the 50's which feels good after being in the 90's all week back home. I hope we get to flyout here in a few hours. Everything is packed and Kevin, Lucas, and I have gone through our bags and eliminated any duplicate gear that we might have. Hope we fly out in a few hours. I will be back to post if we don't get to go!
